"I have learned to be a better cook, how to cook healthier, how to be a better mother and wife. I also appreciate prayers said for me and the Biblical support I get.” - Mother of three boys, expressing her appreciation for the

Imagine...
Imagine you are a 10 year old child, who arrives home after school, hungry from a full-day of learning. You go to the kitchen looking for food, only to find the shelves empty. It is Tuesday, and you eagerly look forward to that evening, knowing that a local church will pick you and your friends up by van, and take you to church for a hot, nutritious meal, followed by songs, games, and stories about Jesus. You return week after week - nourished by the good food and by the love of caring adults.
Matthew 25:34-35 “Then the king will say to those on his right, ‘Come, my Father has blessed you! Inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the creation of the world. I was hungry, and you gave me something to eat. I was thirsty, and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in...”

What Is Cup of Cold Water?
There are those in our community who go to bed hungry, who have to choose between paying for medications or groceries. Children who live next door have trouble sleeping at night because their bellies growl from hunger. Cup of Cold Water meets this most basic of human needs by serving up hot, nutritious meals in four locations throughout DeKalb County. Any man, woman, or child can come and eat their fill; no humiliating questions asked, no burdensome forms to fill out. Tired and hungry folks are greeted by friendly volunteers who are ready to fill their plates with nutritious, home cooked food. Cup of Cold Water volunteers are servants of Christ; providing meals, sharing time and building relationships.
